Diana Wise Obituary

Diana Davis Wise COLUMBIA- Mrs. Diana Davis Wise, 90, of Columbia, passed away on Monday, October 20, 2014. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 22, in the chapel of Temples-Halloran Funeral Home, 5400 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29212 at noon with interment to follow in Bush River Memorial Gardens. The Reverend David W. Setzer and Reverend Dan Ratchford will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Born in Columbia, SC, October 19, 1924, she was the daughter of the late James Curtis and Eulalee Carter Davis. Diana married the love of her life, Joe, on September 5, 1951, and was proud to celebrate their 63rd wedding anniversary this year. Diana began her career as a beauty consultant for Tapp's Department Store on Main Street in Columbia and later worked at the Trenholm Road and Dutch Square locations for nearly 50 years. She was a fashion model for Tapp's and other stores in the Columbia area, appearing in many newspaper ads. Diana also assisted with makeup for various beauty and fashion shows throughout the state. She was affectionately known as "Mimi" to her family and friends. Diana loved people, shopping, and anything to do with makeup, clothes and fashion. She was an honorary member of the "Sassy Sisters" of Chapin Presbyterian Church in Chapin, SC, and was a member of Centennial Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. Diana is survived by her husband, Mr. Joseph F. Wise, Jr,; daughter, Diana (Raymond) Smith; granddaughter, Tiffany Diana Wylie (Tre'); and cousin, Carol Mayfield. The family wishes to express their gratitude to Care South Hospice of Aiken, SC, for their care and support and especially caregivers Barbara and Christy. I have such fond memories of Diana Wise. She was a wonderful neighbor to my mother and sister.I always thought of her as a true lady --- One to be admired. She will truly be missed by so many.
