Mr. Spires passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2011. Born in Columbia, he was the son of the late Fletcher Spires, Jr. and Vermell Neal Jones and he was preceded in death by his sister, Bernice Rhodus.
Surviving are his son, James Fletcher Spires of Atlanta, GA; two grandchildren; sister, Louise S. Boozer of Gaston; brother, Edgar Leon Spires of Chesnee; girlfriend, Angela Coleman of Gaston along with other family and friends.
