Glenda Branham Obituary

Glenda Lou Branham

December 2, 1939 - May 5, 2025

Provo, Utah - Glenda Lou Player Branham was born December 2, 1939, in Hartsville, South Carolina. She finished her earthly journey May 5, 2025, in Provo, Utah. She lived a beautiful and productive life.

Glenda joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at age 18. She attended BYU for a year and after returning home for the summer met Heber Branham. They were married June 5, 1959 in Hartsville, South Carolina, and were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple in September 1960. Glenda's faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding all her actions and decisions.

There were many activities Glenda enjoyed: reading, gardening, sewing, waterskiing, cooking, but her favorite activity was dancing with Heber. From a very young age, she loved spending time at the beach with her family. After moving to Utah in 2013, Glenda showed her "true blue" heart by cheering for her beloved BYU Cougars.

Glenda spent much of her life ministering to others, quietly serving those around her. In her later years, she continued to minister to others even while experiencing excruciating pain and discomfort. Her quiet and gentle spirit drew many to her. She was the steady rock who supported her husband and children. Glenda served faithfully in many church callings throughout her life, but her crowning experience was serving as Matron of the Atlanta Temple while Heber served as Temple President.

Glenda was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Mary Player, her devoted husband Heber Branham, her sister Jennie Guest, and her son Paul Branham. She is survived by her children Glynis (Orion) Rust; Karma (Brent) White; Robin (Grant) Monson: Joel (Lisa) Branham; and Amy (Cory) Woodhouse; 21 grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed, but her influence will continue to be felt by her family and friends.

A viewing will be held at 4440 Fort Jackson Blvd, Columbia, South Carolina on Saturday, May 17, 2025 from 10:00 - 10:45 a.m. followed by funeral service at 11 a.m. Graveside services will be held at Greenlawn Serenity Gardens, 6711 Windwan Dr, Columbia, South Carolina, 29209.

Glynis, Robin, Karma, Joel and Amy. I am so sorry to hear of your mom´s passing. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. I remember how my sweet cousin took care of my mom after she had open heart surgery. I truly loved and appreciated her so much. She was a wonderful and caring member of our family.

I will be out of state and won´t be able to attend her services but please know that I am thinking about you all and praying for you.

Love your cousin,
Karan Brewer Byrd
