Dr. Counts was not only our doctor for many years but he and Libby were two of my mother's (Janie Tucker) best friends. Not only did they sing in the choir at Faith Lutheran the entire 43 years that mother was choir director but they spent many hours in our home even came to Charlotte at least twice to visit my church and hear the choir. Rusty, Karl and Walter and my two sisters spent many a Monday night playing in the halls of Faith as the choir had practice. What great times . Gurdon is now in heaven and he and Libby are singing in the choir and Mrs. Watson is standing right there with them. Thanks for being such good friends to our family for over 50 years.

George and I are so sorry to learn of Dr. Counts death. He was our family doctor from the time we moved to Pelion in 1982 until he retired. Our thoughts and prayers are with his children and family during this sad time. He was a great doctor and a wonderful man. Always singing at the office and always kind and laughing. He and Ms. Libby were always doing something fun. We will miss him personally and I'm sure by the Batesburg-Leesville community.

I was so shocked to hear about Dr.Counts illness and shocked beyond words to hear about his death. Dr.Counts was the first doctor that treated my family when I moved here from Pennsylvania in the early 70's . He had time to talk to you and laugh with you. I remember laugh about this today. I had migraine headaches and I ask him if he thought I might have a brain tumor, and her laughed and said Sandra you have to have a brain first . We both had a good laugh. So, I will miss him so much. I have even taken my child to his house after hrs. Family stay strong and carry his legacy on and be nice to everyone like he did. may god bless you and keep you in his care.

Gurdon and Libby were so special to our family . They were also like family to our Mom and Dad, Martha and Stuart Watson. It makes me happy that they are all in heaven leading the choir!! Please know that all of you are in our thoughts and prayers. Much love, Linda Watson Denny, Bruce and Brian Watson and families.

I was saddened to read of the death of one of my PHS classmates. I remember well the 16th birthday dinner his mother gave him. It was so grand complete with little individual molded butters! Gurdon Wright helped many people and will be long remembered. -Drucie Connelly Eaddy, Class of 1951
