Dearest Ian,
You were my first friend, Very first friend from birth. I'm blessed that our friendship remained your whole life. Thirty years of a bond. I am so thankful for you, our memories and all you have taught me growing up. You taught me how to hang from a ceiling fan, how to jump off the top bunk and land on my feet, you protected me from your dog, taught me how to jump off the roof of the storage unit, how to climb a fence in my frilly dress, memories of throwing rocks (sometimes at cars-that was a scary day!), memories of me holding your hand during the stitches from the "balloon fight," helping heal my broken arm, you taught me how to kick a soccer ball, memories of the dog (or as you called it a big bad wolf costume) trick or treating and every up and down. You will be missed by so many. All my love-Shannon Blackwell DeSouza
One of the many great times Ian and I had together. I will hold on to these memories always.

Hey Ian. I'm so sad. I wish you were here to take the pain away with that great smile of yours. I can't believe you're gone. You will always possess a piece of my heart. Take it with you and I will keep yours alive, here with me, as I go through this life. I will miss you tremendously and I love you. And I will see you again, someday.
