It saddens me to learn of the death of my friend Jack Cantey.
Throughout life, Jack was a scholar and a gentleman. He and I were Kappa Alpha Order Fraternity brothers at Carolina when Jack was in ROTC.
We affectionately called Jack Commander Cantey because we all knew he would excel in service to the United States Navy.
Jack will always be a life-long friend and brother. Liz and their family remain dear in my thoughts and prayers.

It was my honor and privilege to serve with Jack in the Naval Reserve and on the NROTC Alumni Board for many years. Jack was a outstanding Naval Officer and a true gentleman. The success of the Alumni Assoc in supporting the USC NROTC, in large part, was due to Jack's dedication and hard work. Jack is going to be missed by everyone associated with the Navy. Well Done, Good and Faithful Shipmate.
