Joyce Rabon Obituary

Joyce Lorraine LeNoue Rabon (July 25, 1932 - March 1, 2013) PORTALES, NM - Joyce Lorraine LeNoue Rabon, 80, of Portales, NM died Friday, March 1, 2013 at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis. Cremation has taken place, and a burial will be held at a later date. Joyce was born July 25, 1932 to Urban Joseph and Ester Olive (Thompson) LeNoue in Breckenridge, Minnesota. She moved to Los Angeles when she was 1 year old. She graduated from Franklin High School in 1950. Joyce worked at Western Union as a switch board operator. She then moved to South Carolina and got married September 4, 1954 and lived there until she divorced in August 1976. During her time in South Carolina she worked as a seamstress at Stones' Manufacturing. In 1962 when Allied Chemical opened she started with them and retired in 1987 with 25 years. She worked as an instructor and also a machine checker. After she retired she tried her hand for awhile as a real estate agent with Sturkie Builders. Then she went to work with Tapp's Department Store working in sales. She also worked many years with Four Seasons in sales at many of their locations in town. In March 1995 she moved to Clovis, New Mexico to follow her daughter she stayed there until August 1996. She then moved to Barnesville, Minnesota for a brief stay and then she moved back to Columbia, South Carolina December 1997. March 2004 her health started to decline so she moved back to Portales, New Mexico so her daughter and her family could take care of her in her later years. Survivors include her daughter, Katherine Marie and her husband, Gary Allan Riedel of Portales, NM; son, Joe William and his wife Angelia Juhler Rabon of Sioux Falls, SD; four grandchildren, Olivia Lorraine and her husband, Casey B. West of Clovis, NM, Daniel Willian Boan of Ft. Hood, TX, Gina Marie Riedel of Portales, NM, and Mattie Marie Rabon of Sioux Falls, SD; two great-grandchildren, Gavin Daid West and Aspyn Kaizlee West; and a brother, Robert Lesley and his wife, Doris Stetz LeNoue of Barnesville, MN, sister; Linda Jean LeNoue Easley of Ashland, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents, Urban and Ester; and two sisters, Marie Jane Pelland, and Carol Ann LeNoue.
