Mr. McCoy was born in Darlington County, son of the late Carson and Lottie Amerson McCoy. He was married to the late Judy Reynolds McCoy. He retired from DuPont in Camden. Mr. McCoy was a lifelong New York Yankee fan and avid vegetable gardener. He attended Lamar Baptist Church.
Surviving are three sons, Julian (Linda) McCoy, Ronnie (Ilene) McCoy, David (Connie) McCoy, all of Lamar; nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; one brother, J.C. “Buck” McCoy of Lamar; and one sister, Mary Louise Reynolds, also of Lamar.
In addition to his wife, Mr. McCoy was preceded in death by daughter, Sandra M. Ward.
The family will receive friends Sunday 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home in Lamar.
