Larry Kent Patterson

Rev. Larry Kent Patterson BATESBURG - Rev. Larry Kent Patterson, beloved husband, father, grandfather and pastor, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, March 31, 2014. He was born February 27, 1942, in Union, South Carolina, to Sam and Lovelia Patterson. He was predeceased by his parents, and his brothers, James, Norman and Leon Patterson. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Judith Garrett Patterson, four children and their spouses: Teresa and Mark Fox, Robert and Jeanette Patterson, Amy and Wally Gantt and Bryan and Dana Patterson. He was the proud grandfather of nine grandchildren: Judson Fox, Austin Gantt, Rachel Patterson, Forest Gantt, Dalton Gantt, Micala Fox, Gabriel Patterson, Savannah Gantt and Chloe Patterson. He is also survived by a sister-in-law, numerous nieces and nephews and their families, to the third generation. The family would like to thank Palmetto Health Hospice and South Carolina Oncology Association for all their care and support. Visitation will take place at Hulon Baptist Church in Batesburg from 6 to 8 p.m. today, and the funeral service will be at 5 p.m. on Thursday, April 3, at Hulon Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery with Rev. Earl Hartley officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Hulon Baptist Church Building Fund, 133 Hulon Church Road, Batesburg, SC 29006.
