Lexington, South Carolina - Martin Wendell Faile, 82, passed peacefully into eternal rest on Thursday, December 10, 2020 after a short illness. A service will be held 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 15, 2020, with visitation 1 hour prior to the service, at Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel. Due to Covid 19, please observe CDC guidelines.
He was born in Kershaw County, S.C. to R.B. and Nellie Mae Kennington Faile. Martin was pre-deceased in 2019 by JoAnn, his wife of 59 years. He is survived by his two daughters, Elizabeth (Libby) Daniels and Nannette (Nan) Faile (Peggy); two grandsons, Tyler Daniels (Meghan) and Trent Daniels.
Martin enlisted in the Navy in 1958 and began training in mechanics. He went on to work for many years at Allied Signal, Inc., where he was Maintenance Foreman in the Spinning Department where many lifelong friends and enduring memories were made. He later retired as Maintenance Engineer.
In 1961, Martin completed building a home for his young family, one of his proudest achievements. He remained in the home he built for 60 years where he kept a garden year round. For several seasons, three generations of the family grew fresh produce for Harvest Hope Food Bank.
The family would like to express a debt of gratitude to Amy Flake, a long-time friend of "Mr. and Mrs. Faile." Amy provided years of love and service to both.
