Mrs Modist had been an angel in disguise to our family during the past couple of years.I came to know Modist through my Uncle Jerry. My husband had been suffering with lung cancer for the
past year.Modist prayed for us daily and called to check on him often. My husband died last month. The day my my husband was dying she called me at the hospital and counseled me telling me that I had to let him go.She said they would probably be in Heaven together soon. Modist called to see if I was doing ok after the death of my husband. The last time she called she had just came home from the hospital that day. Modist always seemed to be thinking of others instead of herself. I only pray to be half the lady and Christian that she was.I have been tremendessly blessed of God to have known Modist as my friend. I pray God's blessings for her loved ones.

Wade and I extend our sympathy to Modist's family, and to say she was one of the best friends we have ever had. We will miss her so much, but we know she is in a better place and not sick any more.
Modist was a wonderful person who loved everyone and always told you and showed you in her own way, whether it be a gift or something she could do for you, that she loved you.
We have so many things to remember her for. She will always be remembered and loved by us.
She came straight from the hospital in S. C. to Georgia to attend Wade's 80th birthday party this year. She was amazing!
God needed another beautiful flower for his flower garden so he picked Modist.

We are going to miss her more than you could ever know. We came to know her through our brother Jerry and it seems as if she were always
family. She seemed to know when to reach out to anyone, whatever their
pain. She would call me often, late in the evening, and we would share
what was going on in our lives. She loved to hear stories about my pet
raccoon Violet. We'd laugh and laugh over these. Her faith in God was as strong as her faith in people. She was a true friend.

Please accept our thoughts and prayers. I have been thinking of something Mrs. Modist told me not too long ago. She said, "It doesn't matter if I get sicker because if God heals me, it makes Him look better. And if I go to Heaven and get healed, that's even better. It's a win-win situation for me." She was such an inspiration. I know she is rejoicing spending Jesus' birthday with Him. She is beautiful, and was so very loved by all who knew her.
