Paul Wise Obituary

Paul Willie "Shorty" Wise Sr. COLUMBIA - Paul Willie Wise was born January 17, 1924, in Lexington, SC, to the late Paul Wise and Mary Steadman Wise. He passed away July 12, 2016, in PruittHealth Care in Columbia, SC. Paul, affectionately known as "Shorty", attended the public schools of Lexington County. He served in the United States Army CC Camp for three years and was a veteran of World War II. Mr. Wise was a member of Greater Faith United Missionary Baptist Church. For many years, he worked for Leevy's Funeral Home as well as Johnson Garbage Service and One-Stop Laundry Service. He is survived by: four daughters: Brenda (Gary) Holley, Joyce (Bill) Jeffers, Ileen Wise and Linda (Leroy) Hayer; three sons: Willie Edward (Sammie Mae) Wise, Joseph (Azalee) Wise and Paul Willie (Alexis) Wise, Jr.; 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; a devoted niece, Martha Ann Halterwanger, and son-in-law, Gary M. Holley; his former wife, Yolanda Brown; and a host of cousins and friends, all of whom will sadly miss him. The Homegoing service will be held Wednesday, July 20, 2016, 12:00 p.m. at Bostick-Tompkins Funeral Home, 2930 Colonial Drive, with burial in Fort Jackson National Cemetery.
