June 12, 1926 - February 15, 2022
Leesville, South Carolina - Perry Lee "Bill" Smith, 93, of Leesville passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2022. Born in Lexington, SC, he was a son of the late Hesey Lee And Blaine Gillian Smith. Bill loved race cars and enjoyed tinkering with most anything, especially old cars, tractors and lawnmowers. He was a long time member of Old Lexington Baptist Church were he served as a former deacon.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Brenda Snipes Smith; sons, Donald Smith (Carol), Larry Smith (Janet) and Lavern Smith (Lynn). He is also survived by eight grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, nine great great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews some of which he and Brenda help raise. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Phillip Smith; and siblings, Lula Derrick, Julia Poole, Doris Price, Alice Smith, Peggy Smith, Bud Smith and Bob Smith.
A celebration of life for Mr. Smith will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, February 18, 2022 at Old Lexington Baptist Church with Pastor Matthew Boyle and Pastor Jay Black officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at Milton Shealy Funeral Home, 115 N. Pine Street, Batesburg.
