Hallmarks of his career included serving as city judge for Conway and on the board of trustees for the Medical University of South Carolina. Upon the end of his service on the MUSC Board, Representative Sasser was named Trustee Emeritus. Among his greatest accomplishments, Representative Sasser counted establishing "Fishing Day for the Handicapped" as a charter member of the Waccamaw Sertoma Club.

PHIL SO SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS

Phil will be greatly missed. I knew him as Terry Beverly who graduated with me introduced me when he was working with him. Over the years he and I spoke and I did some tickets for him recently, one being for a granddaughter, who obtained one here in NC. He was a gentleman lawyer and always a pleasure to talk with. The last time I saw him was in traffic court a couple of months ago in Conway and at that time when I asked him about retiring, he kindly said that he would retire when he died, and so he has. My deepest condolescences to your family on his passing, he was truly a great lawyer, a good man and a good friend. Bill Phipps

Phil and my late husband Tom were among the charter members of Waccamaw Sertoma. We enjoyed many good times with Phil and Pat at Sertoma functions as well as in their home. I remember how Phil enjoyed fishing for flounder in channels at Cherry Grove. Phil passed his love of fishing on to many children. He always seemed happy and made others feel good when they were in his presence. I have not seen him very often in a good while, but it saddens me to know that Conway is missing another significant community member. My deepest sympathy to the entire family.

To the Sasser family,
I had the great privilege in knowing Phil Sasser in the Horry County Probate Court. He was a kind, but no-nonsense person. His professionalism was always present in his demeanor. He also possessed a terrific smile has he entered the Probate Court and was loved by all the "ladies of the court." He lighed up the office when he came by. He will be sorely missed, but never forgotten.
With sincerest sympathy,
Susan Kimbrough

May the Lord be near at this sorrowful time--May His love, His word and His presence bring you comfort and peace of mind. I pray that you are comforted to know that when you lose a loved one who has meant so much and touched many people’s lives, the grief that you are feeling cannot take away the happiness you all shared, and that sorrow will fade in time but the love will remain forever.

Our fathers may depart the earth, but never their love, never the lessons they have taught us, never their guidance, never the joys that they have brought into our lives. May each and everyone that knows and loves Phil Sr. feel the presence of the Comforter as they grieve. We are here for you.
