Sgt. Sean Ray Wooten GILBERT - Sgt. Sean Ray Wooten, 29, of Gilbert, SC, passed away December 2, 2016. He was born in Tacoma, WA, to Mary Ann Markem Scott of Lexington, SC, and Walter Ray Wooten of Gilbert, SC. Sgt. Sean Ray Wooten is a graduate of Airport High School, class of 2005. He was a member of the JROTC Drill Team for four years where he then joined the Army and the S.C. National Guard which included serving two tours in Iraq. He was a member of the Fort Riley Mustang Club in KS. Sean was involved with his son's Boy Scout, Pack 60. He loved spending time with his family, especially his wife and son, and he will be missed by the many lives he's touched. Sean is survived by his loving wife, Rachel Marie Martinson Wooten of Gilbert, SC; their son, Hunter Ray Wooten; his sister, Shannon Zakes of Gilbert, SC; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Harvie Markem of Alabama, and Vera Parreira of Leesville, SC, and Ms. Katie Zakes Wooten; as well as many other family members. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Barbara Stewart and Lesley Wooten; and cousin, Trent Markem. The family will receive friends at Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia on Monday, December 5, 2016, from 5-8 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Lykesland Baptist Church, 2712 Trotter Rd., Hopkins, SC, on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at noon.
