Mr. Compton was a wonderful teacher to both of my children at Dent's TLC. They loved him. He exhibited teaching of the highest caliber, just as he did in caring for his students with his humanity, humor and overall kindness. We know he loved life and his family. What a life well-lived to have impacted so many families and students in this way. We are so sorry for your loss.

Mr. Compton was the first real science teacher I had, and he taught me so much my first year of middle school. Having someone like Mr. Compton as a teacher was the best foundation for science a student could ask.

Mr. Compton taught me at St. Joseph's years ago. He always had a smile on his face and really seemed to love teaching. He taught my brother as well, and just a few weeks ago we were talking about Mr. Compton and how much we enjoyed his science classes. My thoughts and prayers are with you. So sorry for your loss.

Mr. Compton ("Mr. C") was an amazing influence in my life. He made learning fun and made each student feel important. He was everything a teacher should be and I will never forget him! The students at St. Joseph's were blessed to have had him in our lives. He truly earned his wings, as he was one of a kind!
My prayers are with the family.

June, I doubt you will remember me but my Aunt Ruby was a best friend to your Mom. When Aunt Ruby would visit us in New Ellenton we would come to your house in Aiken. I graduated in 1968, and my maiden name was Bouknight..All of us girls in New Ellenton had crushes on Ernie. Please know how very sorry I am for your loss. My prayers are with all of you.

Mr. C was one of the best teachers I have ever had. He made science, one of my least favorite subjects, fun and interesting so I didn't even realize I was learning. TLC was so much better because of him. He will be sincerely missed.

Mr. Compton was my favorite teacher growing up at St. Joseph's! Later he became my children's teacher at Dent Middle School. He easily was one of the most caring, understanding and kindest teacher and friend. I will truly miss him. My deepest condolences go out to his wife, children and grandchildren. May you all know the suffering we share with you now is difficult but we will all be reunited with him through the grace of God.
