Lauri Baptiste Obituary

Lauri B. Baptiste, 61

Dateline: Attleboro, MA

Lauri B. (Pierce) Baptiste, age 61, of Attleboro, formerly of Mansfield, passed away peacefully, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, January 24, 2019. She was the beloved wife of Raymond M. Baptiste, to whom she was wed on September 22, 1984.

Born in Groton, MA on December 7, 1957, she was a loving daughter of the late Robert H. and Nancy B. (Ryan) Pierce.

Lauri spent her early childhood living in Schaumburg, Illinois. Her family later settled in Mansfield where she was a 1975 graduate of Mansfield High School.

A resident of Attleboro for the past thirty years, Lauri was a dedicated homemaker to her adoring family and had been employed as an administrative assistant at Mansfield High School for over thirty years. Lauri created many fond memories of the staff, students and families over the years and truly loved working at MHS.

Lauri's family was truly the focal point of her life. She was a member of the former First Christian Church in West Mansfield and enjoyed shopping, family trips and day trips and when younger, camping. She will always be remembered for the special place in her heart and the love she shared for animals.

In addition to her beloved husband, she is survived by her loving and devoted daughter Kali B. Baptiste of Attleboro and her fiancé Connor Flynn of Framingham. She was the dear sister of Charles "Chuck" Pierce and his wife Shelly of California, Jonathan Pierce and his wife Martha of Mansfield, Kristina Bizier and her husband Paul of Attleboro, Benjamin Pierce and his wife Jade of Colorado and the late Robert A. Pierce. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as her loving pets "Howie", "Lilly", "Bobo" and her grand dog "Rua".

Her funeral service, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Thursday, January 31st at 10:00 A.M. in the Meetinghouse Church, 11 Otis St., West Mansfield. Burial will follow at Saint Mary's Cemetery in Mansfield.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, January 30th from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Lauri's memory may be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 450 Brookline Ave., Boston, MA 02215. www.danafarbergiving.org
