Marjorie Flint Obituary

Marjorie E. (Sweet) Flint, age 90, of Mansfield, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 22, 2023 at the Morton Hospital in Taunton. She was the beloved wife of the late Benjamin W. Flint, to whom she was wed for nearly thirty-eight years at the time of his death in 1993.

Born in Halifax, MA on August 20, 1933, she was a loving daughter of the late Ernest D. and Beulah F. (Britton) Sweet.

Marjorie grew up in Halifax. Her family later moved to Norton, where she was a graduate of Norton High School.

Mrs. Flint had made her home in Mansfield for the past sixty-eight years. She was a dedicated homemaker to her treasured family and also assisted in the day-to-day operations of Flint Farm, a sixth-generation family-owned farm and landmark in the Village of East Mansfield.

Marjorie's family was the essence of her life. She was always on the go and stood ready to lend others a helping hand. Marjorie also enjoyed traveling and collecting antique creamers. Throughout her life she had a special place in her heart for animals, especially her grand cats "Miss Hazel Nutt", "Kane" and "Bear"

She is survived by her devoted children: Ginny Street and her longtime companion Bill Scott of Mansfield, Nancy Flint of Mansfield and the late Donald Flint, who recently passed away on September 2nd and who is survived by his longtime companion Debbie Donadio, with whom he made his home. She was the cherished and proud grandmother of Christopher Street and his wife Katie of Fall River, David Flint and his girlfriend Alexandria of Mansfield, Colby Street and his girlfriend Jen of Mansfield, Matthew Flint, Jr. and his wife Kerry of Mansfield and the great grandmother of Matthew Jr. and Hunter Flint, Maddie and Abby Street and the late Benjamin Street. She was the dear sister of the late Betty Winslow and is also survived by her loving nieces and nephews. She was the special aunt of Steve and Shirley Hibbard and Larry, Jeff and Bruce Winslow. She was the much-loved mother-in-law of the late Beth Flint and is survived by Beth's sister Mary Lisk of Mansfield.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, October 4th from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main Street, Mansfield.

Her funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 5th at 10:00 at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Norton Center Cemetery in Norton.
