Robert Edward Cutler, Sr., of
Whitinsville, MA, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2024. Bob was born in Boston on August 27, 1938, to Violet Goodwin. He was raised by Violet and Chester Cutler, who adopted Bob later in life. Bob spent his childhood years spending quality time with his many relatives of the Goodwin family.
Bob graduated from Foxborough High School in 1956. Bob married his first wife, Elaine Gagne, in 1959. He raised his family in Foxborough while he worked as a maintenance supervisor at Merckens Chocolate in Mansfield. While raising his children, Bob was actively involved in youth sports as a coach in baseball and hockey. Bob held several different careers during his lifetime including mechanical maintenance and repair, Real Estate Sales, ownership of his own convenience store in Attleborough, Metal Bellows and shipping and receiving for BJ's while in Florida.
Throughout his life, Bob was an avid athlete playing hockey, football, baseball, softball, and golf. Bob was remarried to Rose Dufrense. Bob and Rose moved to
Boynton Beach, Florida in the early 90's and lived in Florida for many years, making wonderful lifelong friends. They later moved to Honea Path, South Carolina in 2018. They returned to Massachusetts in 2022. Bob was able to spend quality time with his family after moving back to Massachusetts. Bob and Rose also made some wonderful new friends in Whitinsville who were a blessing during the last years of his life.
Bob is survived by his wife Rose Cutler of Whitinsville, his children Robert Cutler Jr. (Michele) of Foxborough, Paul Cutler (Maria) of Pascoag, RI, and Dawn Lawrence (Dale) of Medway. He was predeceased by his brother, Richard Cutler of Attleboro. He is also survived by his stepchildren Sandra Bellini (Joel) of Upton, Rita Langevin (Raymond) of Ohio and Danielle Dufresne of Florida. He is predeceased by his stepson Norman Dufresne. He is also survived by his grandchildren Christopher Cutler (Meagen), Jenna Cutler (Erica), Nicholas Cutler, Kendall Cutler (Zack), Zachary Lawrence, Melanie Bellini (Ryan), Maxwell Langevin, Abby Langevin and Emma Dufresne. He is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements were private and were handled by Roberts & Sons of Foxborough.
