Ronald Ezyk Obituary

It is with deep sadness that the family of Ronald (Ronnie) M. Ezyk announce his peaceful passing at the age of 74 on March 22, 2023 at RI Hospital. He was surrounded by his loved ones.

Ronnie was born on September 12, 1948 in Attleboro, MA. He graduated from Attleboro High School in 1966, where he played football. After high school he worked as a meat cutter for Zito's Market in Attleboro. In 1973 Ronnie began his career in construction as a Piledriver with Local 56. He was a Vice President for Goudreau Marine Corp., a Superintendent at Jay Cashman, Inc. and a Heavy Equipment Operator at Trevi Icos. Major projects he worked on include Boston's Big Dig, rebuilding of the "Jaws" bridge and the creation of the bike path from Oak Bluffs to Edgartown on Martha's Vineyard. He loved what he did for work and always found a way to weave it into the conversation.

Ronnie was extremely devoted to his family and his nieces and nephews were his greatest joy. He was truly selfless and an unbelievably generous person. Ronnie enjoyed vacationing on Martha's Vineyard where his wife Marilee was born. He loved the ocean and the island was like a second home to him. An avid sports enthusiast and loyal Patriots fan, he had season tickets and loved going to the games. In addition to the pre-game tailgating, he also took pleasure in watching the military flyovers.

Ronnie is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Marilee A. (Gordon) Ezyk, who was his high school sweetheart. Brothers: Steven (Barbara) Ezyk, William (Ethel) Gurn and Tommy (Lisa) Ezyk. Sisters: Nancy (Steve) Hilton and Lisa (Paul) Henault. Nephew and Godson James (Kendra) Moffat IV and his children Gabrielle, Jimmy and Marleigh. Niece and Goddaughter Jessica (Jon) Fuller and her children Autumn and Colton Ressler, as well as other beloved family members and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Stanley Ezyk and Vivian Gurn Ezyk, and brothers Richard Ezyk and Robert Gurn.

Family and friends are welcome to attend a celebration of life which will be held on Sunday, March 26, 2023 at Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck Street, Attleboro, MA. Visiting hours are from 12 – 3 pm, with a service beginning at 3 pm all held at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations made in Ronnie's name to the American Kidney Fund, www.kidneyfund.org, or the Joe Andruzzi Foundation, www.joeandruzzifoundation.org, would be greatly appreciated.
