Thomas Roy Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that the Roy Family announces the unexpected passing of their beloved son and brother, Thomas John Roy, aged 57, on June 18, 2024 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital. Tom was born on May 3, 1967 to his parents, Leo and Judith (Hammond) Roy of Attleboro. Tom was their baby, and oh how they loved him.

Tom was a lifelong resident of Attleboro and was especially proud of his Lonicut and Dodgeville roots. He worked as an Iron Worker for Dunlap Crane Service and also served as a bouncer at Jarrod's.

Tom loved fishing and was a dedicated Boston Sports fan. He always had a joke and will fondly be remembered for his ability to make people laugh. Tom had many friends, but none greater than Shawn McNally.

Tom's pride and joy were his children: Nicole and her husband Josh Young of Seekonk, Jessica Roy of South Hadley, and Ryan Roy of Attleboro. Tom cherished his role as Poppa to his beloved grandchildren, Shaylen and Mazie. Tom is survived by his wife, Leanne Foley Roy, his children, grandchildren, his momma Judith Roy, his brothers Ron, Don, Tim, Leo, Jim, and his sister Kathy, as well as many nieces and nephews.

The Roy family will be holding a celebration of Tom's life at 1030 Country Street in Attleboro at a later date. In Tom's memory, please call a family member or friend and share a joke, ask them a trivia question, or simply tell them you love them, as Tom would so often do.

This is incredibly sad. My condolences to Toms family! We were such good friends back in the day! I haven´t seen Tom since our sons played baseball together. We hung out a lot in high school ! He will be missed.

I am so sorry to just hear of Tom´s passing. I grew up with Tom in Lonicut. He was such a kind, sweet, funny guy and we loved to gather together as a group at the summer P.A. BBQ and reminisce about the "good ole days". My deepest condolences to Tom´s family, close friends and to his special buddy Shawn.

I am devastated to hear about Tom
Passing...I only have a handful of best friends and Tommy is at the top of that list. I met Tom in the early 80´s and spent the best years of my life with him. School, work, hanging out, driving around, fishing everything for years and years. My wife Laura also loved Tommy. She passed away just a year ago. She actually knew him before I met him they live fairly close to each other.Tom taught me a lot about what´s really important in life he was always family and friends first. He always had my back know matter what.Tommy is 100% the definition of a great man.My deepest condolences go out to his family and loved ones.
