Ms. Shontay Sumter
ROCK HILL -- Funeral services for Ms. Shontay Sumter, 39, of Rock Hill, SC, will be held 2:00pm, Sunday, May 21, 2023, at Brown Chapel A.M.E Church, 195 Brown Chapel Rd., Elloree, SC, with interment to follow in Belleville Memorial Gardens, 2900 Belleville Rd., Orangeburg, SC.
Ms. Sumter passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at her residence in Rock Hill, SC. She was the daughter of Jeffrey and Judy Sumter.
Visitation will be held Saturday, May 20, 2023, from 2:00pm-7:00pm.
Family and friends may visit the residence of her Grandmother Ms. Elnora Sumter, 757 Winding Brook Dr., Cameron, SC or call Simmons Funeral Home and Crematory of Orangeburg, SC.
Please adhere to all COVID-19 precautions and masks are required during visitation and funeral services.

I miss you so much Tay. I still can't believe you left me like this. I'm do glad we spoke a few days before. I just hate we didn't get to go try that new bar/restaurant you wanted to go to. And the volunteer work we wwre supposed to do...I will never forget our last conversation and all of the words of encouragement you gave me. We ALWAYS lifted each other up!!!! I will keep it going and do my charity work in your name and honor!! I love you so much Shontay!!

It´s hard to believe that one year has passed since you left us Tay! I think of you very often and miss our conversations. All I have left is memories that I will cherish forever...... I am so happy that we were able to spend those 3 days with you in April. Didn´t know that it would be the last time that we would see you. This empty void will never be filled. I miss you sooo much
