Alfred Duwane Nickle
Moro, IL - Alfred "Duwane" Nickle, 90, passed away at 9:55 am on Thursday, October 2, 2025.
He was born on February 21, 1935 in Mulberry Grove on the family farm, the son of Don and Geraldine Nickle (Koonce) .
Duwane married Mary Jane Wyatt on July 9, 1955. She survives.
He attended school at the University of Illinois, where he graduated with his Master Gardeners Degree in 2009. Duwane retired from Lenhardt Tool and Die in Alton, IL. He loved to garden, and grew a variety of vegetables. He loved to volunteer at Willoughby Farms in Collinsville, IL. When he wasn't in the garden, he was in the shop, repairing chairs or fixing something for someone.
In addition to his wife, Duwane is survived by 3 sons, David (Belinda) Nickle of Rosewood, KY; Dennis (Gail) Nickle of Fredericktown, MO; and Kenneth Nickle of Moro, IL; Brothers Frank (Kathy) of Jerseyville, IL; Anthony (Nancy) Nickle of Bethalto, IL; Sister Gayle Rogers of Oakland, OR; Three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Brothers Bruce Nickle, Robert Nickle, Don Nickle Jr.; Sisters Donna Hawkins, Phylis Montgomery, Virginia Rotledge; And grandaughter April Kay.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Homes in Bethalto, Illinois.
Funeral services will be on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Homes in Bethalto, Illinois
