Medora, IL - Betty Louise Edwards, 91, of rural Medora, IL, passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
She was born on October 17, 1933, in Nokomis, IL, the daughter of the late Roy and Edna (Workman) Davis.
Betty married Leroy Edwards on October 22, 1950, in Nokomis, IL. He preceded her in death on February 1, 2021.
She was a farm wife and homemaker who loved the country life. She enjoyed traveling, reading books, crossword puzzles, and collecting anything peacock. Her greatest loves were cooking and spending time with her family. Cooking was her love language, always ready for that big family meal where everyone she loved got together to eat, laugh, and spend quality time together.
Betty is survived by three children, Deanne Edwards of Medora, Rodney (Toni) Edwards of Bethalto, and Bruce Edwards (Kari Presnell) of Medora; seven grandchildren, Matthew (Angela) Edwards, Melinda Edwards (Jason Hanebrink), Brandi (Jerad) Pruitt, Tonya (Mike) Gonzales, Tammy Edwards, Jeremy Edwards, and Bryan Edwards (Taylor Tucker); fifteen great-grandchildren, Lainey, Lydia, Lexi, Mariah, Eva, Viviana, Maddie, Ainsley, Haylee, Hunter, Hanna, Brysan, Kolsan, Addie, and River; four great great grandchildren, Leo, Elena, Indy, Saint, and Beckham; brother, Don Davis; daughter-in-law, Judy Edwards.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sons, Roger and Keith Edwards; daughter-in-law, Kathi Edwards; eleven sisters.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of memorial service at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 2, 2025, at Anderson Family Funeral Home in Brighton, where we will honor both Betty and Leroy.
Burial will follow at Shipman Cemetery where they will be interred together.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
