CONNOR JOHN CUNNINGHAM
EDWARDSVILLE, ILL. - Connor John Cunningham, "The Doctor", 19, passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2014, in Kirksville, Mo.
Connor was born on August 1, 1995, in Waco, Texas, a son to John and Lauri (Machino) Cunningham.
Connor was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Edwardsville, Ill. Connor loved all types of music; he was also a talented musician who started playing the violin at the age of five. He loved the summers he spent at Camp Piasa, he was a camper for four years and a Junior Counselor for fours years as well. Connor was a member of the tennis team and the Orchestra Program at Edwardsville High School and had graduated in 2014. He had worked at Annie's Frozen Custard, AMC Theater and was a lifeguard at Splash City in Collinsville, Ill., before attending Truman State University in Kirksville, Mo. Connor's major was Exercise Science and his minor was Military Science, he was also a proud member of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity and ROTC. Connor's presence would light up a room, he loved to smile, he loved life, he loved to laugh, but most of all he loved his family and friends. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Allan Cunningham.
Connor is survived by his loving parents, John and Lauri Cunningham; dear sisters and brothers, Claire, Calvin, Callie and Carter Cunningham all of Edwardsville, Ill.; maternal grandparents, Karen Ruder of Ft. Meyers, Fla. and George (Jeri) Machino of East Alton, Ill.; paternal grandmother, Sheila Cunningham of Walton, Ky.; aunts and uncles, Jill and Tom Adams of Edwardsville, Ill., Sharon Bays of Spanghdalm, Germany, Jim and Kathryn Cunningham of Daytona Beach, Fla. and Paul Cunningham of Walton, Ky.; cousins, Melia Adams, Justin Cunningham, Alex Bays and Rachel Cunningham; and many wonderful friends.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 22, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 600 Water Street, Edwardsville, Ill.
In celebration of his life, funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 23, at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor John Shank officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Estates, Glen Carbon, Ill.
Memorial donations may be given to Camp Piasa or to Edwardsville High School Orchestra Program and will be accepted at the church.
Irwin Chapel, Glen Carbon is entrusted with the arrangements.

I worked with John at the City and I want you to know how deeply sorry I am to learn of Conner's passing. I remember him as one of the cutest little boys I've ever seen. I did not know Connor but I live down street from Trinity and was home the day of his funeral. I am so sorry for your loss but know by all the people that were their to support you and show their love for Connor that you have a very special son and your family is very much loved.
