Larry Bruce Obituary

Larry Martin Bruce
Worden - Larry M. Bruce, aged 73, passed away with family by his side on October 5, 2024. Born on June 21, 1951, Larry graduated from Wood River High School, Class of 1969, and dedicated 30 years of his career as a pattern maker with Owens Illinois and American Steel. An avid horseman, Larry cherished moments boating at the lake with his family, scuba diving, and building houses. His commitment to community service was evident through his active involvement with the Holiday Shores Volunteer Fire Department. Larry's passions extended to Zion Lutheran Church in Bethalto, where he was a devoted member and where services will be held to honor his life on October 12th from 0930-1145. An open house will follow at the Bruce home in Holiday Shores. Larry is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Bruce; sons, Robert and Michael Bruce; sisters, Nancy Jones and Denise Powell; and his six cherished grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Ruth Bruce.

I meet Larry 23 years ago when he helped us in a time when we needed it the most and gave my now husband and I our first place to live. I've never forgot about him. A very wonderful man.
