ALTON — Mark "Hoss" Eugene Hook, 59, died at 12:17 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2021 at Missouri Baptist Hospital.
He was born Oct. 17, 1961 in Alton, Illinois, the son of Virgil Hook of Godfrey, Illinois, and the late Margaret (Haley) Hook.
He was an operator for P.Q. Corporation in St. Louis, Missouri.
On July 4, 1998 in Godfrey, he married Donna Laslie and she survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Eric Maxon Sr. (Tiffany) of Alton, Hunter Hook of Alton and Chase Hook of Aiken, South Carolina; two grandchildren, Gaige Davis and Eric Maxon Jr,; four siblings, Debbie Osborne (Charles) of Aiken, Joseph Hook (Joni) of Godfrey, James Hook (Leslie) of Godfrey and Karen Shimchick (Larry) of Alton.
Besides his mother, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Easton Skyler Maxon.
A drive thru visitation will be from 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 29, 2021 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton.
Please enter through the south entrance off Rozier Street.
The funeral service and burial will be private.
Memorials may be made to the Veterans Administration.
Join the family to celebrate Mark's life in the banquet room at Mac's Time Out beginning at 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 29, 2021.
