Richard VanMeter Obituary

Richard L. Van Meter, Jr.
Carbondale - Rick Van Meter passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2024, in Carbondale, IL. He was born in Jerseyville, IL in 1963.
After graduating from Southern Illinois University Carbondale, he worked at Defense Mapping in St. Louis, MO. In his free time, he enjoyed collecting and identifying rocks and minerals.
Rick was preceded in death by his father, Richard Van Meter, Sr.
He is survived by his mother Arlene (Tom) Kaiman, sister Elizabeth (Steve) Miller, and brother Ron (Shari) Van Meter. Also surviving are an aunt, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Rick will forever be in our hearts.
A private burial will be held in Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville, IL at a later date.

Ron, Elizabeth and Arlene my family´s prayers go out for you and your family. Rick,Ron and I share some good memories of our youth. Even know I haven´t seen him in many years I always considered him to be one of my best friends.
