Roger L. Lammy
Michael - Roger Leo Lammy, 70, left this earth Wednesday, April 26th, 2023. He was born March 27th,
1953 in Carrollton, Illinois to Hampton and Betty (Slone) Lammy.
He leaves behind a wife, Tina Lammy. Five children, Dustin and Erin Lammy of Hamburg,
Elizabeth and Tim Sievers of Batchtown, Jonathan and Tara Lammy of Pleasant Hill, Savannah
Lammy (Nicholas Stutz) of Bunker Hill, and Nathaniel Lammy (Presley Spanton) of Murrayville. Nine grandchildren, Cole, Austin, Bralyn, Carlee, Mason, Ellie, Fulton, Josylyn, and Clement, two brothers, Michael and Cheryl Lammy of Hamburg and Jeffery and Judy Lammy of Hamburg, and an Uncle, Maurice Lammy of Kampsville, nieces, nephews, and numerous great nieces and nephews.
Roger graduated from Calhoun High School, class of 1971. He worked as a laborer from 1972
until 1995 when he began working at U.S. Steel, where he retired from in 2017.
Roger was full of life and spent most of his time outdoors and was always listening to music. He
bow hunted before bow hunting was cool. In his prime, he could out-fish, out-hunt and
out-mushroom hunt anyone. He rarely missed a Calhoun sporting event, especially if a child or
grandchild was playing. He loved gardening and even though all of his children dreaded it
growing up, they all have managed to become gardeners themselves.
He was preceded in death by his parents and numerous aunts and uncles. Roger was greatly
loved and will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
Visitation will be Monday, May 1, 2023, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Gress, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home in Hardin.
Funeral Service will be Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Gress, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home in Hardin.
Burial will follow at Hamburg Cemetery.
