ROGER PEJAKOVICH
GODFREY — Roger D. Pejakovich, 51, of Godfrey, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 18, 2018, at 8:25 a.m. at his residence.
Roger was born on Jan. 24, 1967, in East St. Louis, Illinois, the son of Donald F., step-mother Irene, and Jeanette W. (Masur) Pejakovich. He married Julie M. Williams on March 21, 1997, in Edwardsville, Illinois, and she survives.
Roger worked as a journeyman machinist at Owens-Illinois Machine Manufactory for 19 years until they closed in 2006; he then worked 10 years as a tool and dye maker for Boeing Corporation.
In addition to his wife, Roger is survived by two sons, Christopher Pejakovich of Portland, Oregon, and Lucas Pejakovich of Godfrey; two step-brothers, Stanley Moran of Arnold, Missouri, and Forest (Robin) Moran of Arnold, Missouri.
Roger was preceded in death by his mother.
Roger loved racing and was a member for many years with Metro St Louis Racing Association, where he proudly served as the Safety Director and Tech Director. He was the crew chief for his son Lucas, racing quarter midgets and later moving up to Micro Sprints. If he wasn't racing at an oval track he loved going to the drag strip and helping the pit crew of the Gallay Race Team. When not at a track or drag strip, Roger also loved hanging out at Bowl Haven Lanes and bowling with his son and friends.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2018, at Meadowbrook Baptist Church, where the funeral service will begin at 3 p.m. following visitation at the church, with Pastor Kevin Auten officiating. Immediately following the service there will be a Celebration of Life at Bluff City Grill in Alton, Illinois.
Memorials may be made to Metro St Louis Racing Association.
