Scott Davis
Cottage Hills - Scott Alan Davis, 72,passed away Sunday, May 26, 2024, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital surrounded by his family.
Scott was born Feb. 19, 1952, in Alton, IL to Buddy & lola Davis, the 2nd child of 8.
He married Mary Bricker on Sept. 29, 2012, in Cottage Hills.
Scott served his country in the USAF for 20 years, retiring as Master Sergeant in 1992. He received numerous commendations, medals, awards, and achievements. After completing his military service, he moved back to the area and worked as a Bailiff for the Madison County Courthouse, retiring in 2012. He also served as the President of AFSCME Local #799 and was a true advocate for the people.
Everyone who knew Scott loved him. He was a good storyteller and jokester. He loved his family, music, dancing and gambling.
He is survived by the love of his life, Mary; as well as his first wife, Reva and their sons, Scott Davis of Alton and Cory Davis of Las Vegas, Nevada; his grandchildren, Jasmine (Matthew Mueller) Davis of Alton, Matthew Davis of Glen Carbon, K.C. (Ashley) Kluesner of Brigham City, Utah, and Charles Davis of Las Vegas; his great grandchild, Hailey Kluesner of Utah; his sisters, Dawn (Harold) Schallenberg of Bethalto, Marla (Kevin Johnessee) Davis of Edwardsville; brothers, Steve (Carol) Davis of Bethalto, Mike Davis of South Roxana, Brian (Tina) Davis of Bethalto, Brady (Kady Reese) Davis of Wood River, Aunt and Uncle Gary (Jeanie) Hunt of Bethalto and Aunt Nancy Davis of St. Charles, MO; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is also survived by his bonus grandchildren Tyler Bricker, Sawyer (Sara) Bricker, and Bailey (Drew) Schwan; and bonus great grandchildren, T.J. Bricker, Jasper Bricker, and Archer Schwan.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Danny Davis, a nephew, Shane Davis, maternal grandparents, Victor and Verma Davis; paternal grandparents, Ralph & Helen Hunt, and Everett (Pete) Davis.
Visitation will be Friday, June 21 at Paynic Home for Funerals in Rosewood Heights from 11 a.m. until time of services at 1:00 p.m. Burial with full military honors will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Stroke Foundation.

Uncle Scott, I fell in love with your great sense of humor and fun-loving spirit from the first time I met you. I could see that you and Aunt Mary were definitely meant for each other.
