Stephanie Schaefer Obituary
Prairetown - Stephanie Kay Schaefer, age 53, of Prairietown, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, December 11, 2021, at her residence surrounded by her loved ones. She was born December 28, 1967, in Alton, Illinois, the daughter of Joyce Sledge Jabusch and the late Ben Corsere. Stephanie graduated from Edwardsville High School in 1986. After completing her degree at SIUE in 1990, Stephanie went on to a successful career as a relocation specialist. Her final position was serving as the U.S. Region Mobility Lead with the Boeing Corporation in St. Louis.
She is survived by her husband, Michael E. Schaefer, whom she married on September 9, 1989, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Prairietown. She is also survived by two daughters, Courtney Bilyeu & husband Chris of Hamel, Katelyn Friederich & husband Zachary of Holiday Shores; five grandchildren, Caiden, Gwendolyn, Gavin, Madelynn & Brighton. Also, by her mother and stepfather, Joyce Jabusch & C.W. "Zeke" of Godfrey.
Stephanie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and friend.
She enjoyed days on the lake, time spent with her grandchildren, and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. Regardless of circumstance, Stephanie always embraced life with a smile on her face. For those blessed to have known her, they can attest to the love and kindness that Stephanie constantly exuded. Her endless bravery and strength will always be remembered by those who knew her.
Stephanie was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Prairietown. She will be cremated according to her wishes. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, December 16, 2021, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Prairietown. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December December 17, 2021, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church with Rev. Brandon Larson officiating.
The family requests memorials to St. Peter's Lutheran Church. Weber & Rodney Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be expressed online at weberfuneralhome.com.
