Alexandria "Sandra" Buckshon, 85, of Olyphant, passed away Tuesday morning at the Regional Hospital of Scranton. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Buckshon, who passed away on June 29, 2022. They were married in Fort Knox, Ky., on Sept. 14, 1957.
Born Alexandria Wyszynski in Dickson City on Nov. 1, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Fabian and Pauline Krusesky Wyszynski, and was a graduate of St. Mary's High School, class of 1956. She was a member of Holy Cross Parish at St. Patrick's Church, Olyphant, and the Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Raymond Henry Post 327, Olyphant, and, before her retirement in 2001, Sandra was a machinist at McKinney Manufacturing Company, Scranton.
Sandra was loved dearly and will be missed by her family and friends.
Surviving are two daughters, Arlene Clements and husband Bob, Kentucky; and Cindy Cherry and husband Rich, Florida; her grandchildren, Kristina Spradling and husband Juston, Hawaii; John and Debbie Clements, Kentucky; Mitch, Samantha and Dylan Cherry, all of Florida; her great-granddaughter, Audrine Cherry, Texas; her two sisters, Lucy Wyszynski, Dickson City; and Marlene Rivas and husband Frank, California; her brother, Larry Wyszynski, Tennessee; three sisters-in-law, Marylou Buckshon, Olyphant, Norene Wyszynski, Oregon, and Joan Buckshon, North Carolina; numerous nieces and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her infant son, John Jr.; her sisters, Pearl Kostic, Gladys Ziman and Shirley Wyszynski; her brother, Walter Wyszynski; and her two brothers-in-law, Mike Kostic and Frank Ziman.
The funeral will be Monday at 9:30 a.m. from the Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home Inc., 601 Dundaff St., Dickson City, PA, 18519, with a Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated at St. Patrick's Church, Olyphant. Interment will take place at Holy Ghost Cemetery, Blakely. Friends may call on Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
