Ann Rogish, 95, of Carbondale, passed away at her home on Saturday, April 6, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. She was the widow of Joseph J. Rogish Sr., who died on Oct. 7, 2004. The couple was married for 56 years.
Born in Childs, Pa., she was the youngest child of William and Sarah (Collins) Fife. She was a graduate of Mayfield High School and a lifelong member of St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale. Prior to retirement, Ann was employed at Marian Community Hospital, Carbondale.
Ann enjoyed traveling, shopping, spending time with family, reading "Rag Mags" and going to lunch with her dear friends, Judy and Mary Lou. Her true calling, however, was that of mother to her five children to whom she was so dedicated and of whom she was so proud.
The family would like to thank Dr. Matthew Haley and the staff of Traditional Home Health and Hospice for their compassionate care. Special thanks to Amy, Christina, Kelcey, Lois, Mary and Sue.
Surviving are her sons, Joseph J. Rogish Jr. and wife, Marilyn, Victor, Montana; and Edward Rogish, Aiea, Hawaii; daughters, Ann Marie Cicci, Peckville; and Susan Barrese and husband, Raymond, Carbondale; nine grandchildren, Dr. Kristina Polk, Tanya Rogish, Joseph Rogish, Jonathan Cicci, Teresa Russell, Michael Barrese, Dr. David Barrese, Brianna Rogish and Abby Bodin; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Robert William Rogish; granddaughter, Kimberly Rogish; brothers, William, Francis, John, James and Charles Fife; sisters, Marie Damski and Sarah Cibula; and half-brothers, Robert and Paul Fife.
The funeral will be Thursday, April 11, 2024, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until Mass time at the church.
