Ann Stasia Rovinsky, 89, of Dickson City, died Wednesday at the home of her daughter, Eileen, with whom she resided for the last 12 years, after a long illness. Her husband, Joseph J. Rovinsky, died Sept. 1, 1990.
Born in Perth Amboy, N.J., on Sept. 3, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Catherine Bamburack Tyminski.
Anna was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Visitation Church, Dickson City, and she attended St. Mary's Parochial School.
As a young girl, she was employed at the U.S. Mint, Philadelphia, and was a governess for the Russian Embassy in New York. She later worked at Automation Components, Peckville, and retired from Hamurnat Manufacturing, Olyphant.
She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister who cared deeply for and was very proud of her family. She was a great cook and baker, famous for her lemon meringue pies and pineapple white cake. Anna was an excellent seamstress who adored spending time with her family.
She was a very special, loving mother who was deeply loved and will be truly missed by all who knew her.
She died peacefully at the home of her daughter and surrounded by her family, including her grandchil- dren, who served as her physicians.
The family would like to express a heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Hospice Community Care, including Sandy Harowicz, R.N.; Lori Zavaskas and Rhina Nunez, and an extra special thank you and deep appreciation for the special care and compassion provided by Liz Davis and Lori Beers, who were like family to her.
Surviving are two daughters who were her caretakers for the last 13 years, Eileen Oleski and husband, Ron, Dickson City; and Shirley Oleski and husband, Frank, Scott Twp; a son, Joseph J. Rovinsky and wife, Lisa, Dickson City; five grandchildren, Dr. Darleen Oleski, Dickson City; Dr. Cynthia Oleski and husband, Dr. Giovanni Ramos, Scranton; Dr. Sheryl Lynn Oleski and husband, Dr. Michael Kim, Scranton; and Joseph J. III and Stephen Rovinsky, Dickson City; five great-grandchildren who were the lights of her life, Julia and Rachel Kerr, Giovanni and Christopher Ramos and Chloe Kim; three sisters, Mary Fischer, Queens, N.Y.; Pearl Kiwior, Dickson City; and Dolores Pieski, Scranton; a special sister-in-law, Dolores Tyminski, Throop; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Dr. Henry Tyminski and Stanley Tyminski, and a sister, Clementine Bielinski.
The funeral will be today at 11:30 a.m. from the Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home Inc., 601 Dundaff St., Dickson City, with Mass at noon in St. Mary's Visitation Church, Dickson City, to be celebrated by Monsignor Stanley Piorkowski.
Interment, St. Joseph's Cemetery, Scott Twp.
