Arthur Andrews Obituary

Arthur Andrews Jr., Charlotte Hall, Md., died May 7.

Born in Philadelphia, he is survived by wife, Barbara Kilpert Andrews, of 28 years; and stepson, Harry T. Von Oehsen and his wife, Danielle Von Oehsen.

He served in the United States Army in MASH Unit in Northern Vietnam, 1965-1967. He loved his job and was honored to work for the U.S. Postal Service from 1968-2000. He started as a letter carrier in Philadelphia, and became post master of Hawley, Pa., in 1980. He received many honors and commendations during his career.

He was a member of the Scranton Ski Club where he traveled to many states and different countries. After retiring, he moved to New Mexico and followed his passion of downhill skiing every day there was snow to glide on.

He resided at Charlotte Hall Veterans Home in Maryland before passing away with his wife by his side.

He enjoyed travel, music, being with family and friends, and was an amateur photographer. He will truly be missed.

He was 79 years old.

On May 20, 2024, a graveside service with military honors will be held at 1 p.m. at Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery, 11301 Crain Highway, Cheltenham, MD 20623.
