Caroline MacVay Obituary

Caroline M. MacVay, 90, of Lake Sheridan, died Monday at home. Her husband, Paul James MacVay, died in 1979.

Born Sept. 22, 1918, in Scranton, daughter of the late William J. and Catherine Flatley Macker, she was a member of St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, Nicholson, and regularly attended St. Ann's Monastery perpetual and annual solemn novena since she was a teenager.

During World War II, she was a riveter for Navy and Marine attack aircraft-F4U Corsair. She was a member of the Clarks Summit VFW Post 7069 Ladies Auxiliary and the Factoryville Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.

Surviving are a son, James MacVay, Lake Sheridan; a daughter, Judith Rapp, Lake Sheridan; a brother, William Macker, Bethesda, Md.; a sister, Evelyn Macker, Old Forge; and two grandchildren, Michael Rapp and wife, Michele; and Mauri Rapp.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick's Church, Main and High streets, Nicholson, celebrated by the Rev. Gerard McGlone. Interment will be in Cathedral Ceme- tery, Scranton.

There will be no viewing hours. Family and friends are asked to go directly to the church. The family requests memorial donations be made to St. Patrick's Church, 100 Main St., Box 309, Nicholson PA 18446.

Arrangements by the Charles H. Litwin Funeral Home, 91 State St., Nicholson.

My other big sister, I am so sorry for your loss. I have such good memories of your mom. She loved you so much. I can't believe she was 90. You were very lucky to have her for so long. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
