Clamounte R. Bobrowski, 80, of Luray, Va., died Saturday, Feb. 13, 2021, at the Blue Ridge Hospice, Winchester, Va. He was preceded in death by his wife, Tempie Manning Bobrowski, who died July 6, 2018.
Born in Gibson, Pa., on Feb. 6, 1941, he was the son of the late Edward Alexander and Isabelle Lukaszewski Bobrowski. He was a 1959 graduate of Dickson City High School and he attended Columbia University. He served with the United States Marine Corps Reserves, attaining the rank of sergeant, and he was a member of American Legion Post 665, Dickson City.
Clamounte was a past partner in Eagletronics and was CEO of Staples Research. He designed and manufactured photo-related optical/electronic/mechanical products that enhanced photos from high-flying aircraft exclusively for the first 20 years. During the same period he worked with night vision labs in developing night vision and thermal vision devices. For the entire 44 years, he had a great relationship with the USPS and the evolution of the automated mail sortation machinery. From the '90s until his retirement, he developed and patented a meat tenderizing machine that could process 50 pounds of beef per minute 24 hours a day.
He was an accomplished accordion player and collector for more than 70 years. Clamounte was very proud of his Polish heritage.
The family would like to express many thanks to nephew Jason, niece Patty Benskin, lifelong friend Frank Golembiewski, Michele Cioffi and Linda Adams of Tax Matters.
He is survived by a brother, Edward and wife, Karen Bobrowski, Olyphant, Pa.; a sister, Michele and husband, Richard Belknap, Clifton Park, N.Y.; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Fraser, Port St. Lucie, Florida.
Due to COVID-19 concerns, the funeral will be private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by the Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home Inc., 601 Dundaff St., Dickson City.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Mary's Visitation Church, Dickson City. Interment, St. Joseph's Cemetery, Scott Twp. To leave an online condolence, visit the funeral home website.
