Corey Gabriel Collins, 47, of Evansville, Indiana, a Scranton native, died Tuesday afternoon.
Born March 24, 1977, the beloved son of Marianne Collins, Corey was a graduate of Scranton Preparatory School. He served his country in the United States Air Force where he would earn the rank of senior master sergeant, prior to his honorable discharge after 20 years of service. Prior to his retirement, he had been honored by the military with the Air Force Meritorious Service Medal, the Air Force Commendation Medal, the Air Force Achievement Medal, the Meritorious Unit Award and the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award.
Upon retirement, he held a management position as a site manager at TRIGO in Princeton, Indiana.
Anyone who knew Corey will remember his fun-loving and adventurous attitude toward life. He enjoyed drinks with friends, beach vacations, dressing up for Halloween, amusement parks and roller coasters, and had no boundaries when it came to a good joke. Everyone who loved him will tell you that they have a favorite memory filled with laughter.
He is survived by his mother; and daughters, McKenzie and Rylee Collins, of Bordentown, N.J.; as well as his uncles, Joseph Collins, of Philadelphia; and Paul Sweeney and wife, Li-ying, of King of Prussia; and many cousins.
