Frank Witkowski Obituary

Frank "Butch" Witkowski Jr., Scranton died Monday in the VNA Hospice Inpatient Unit at Community Medical Center.

Born in Scranton, son of the late Frank and Mary M. Boris Witkowski, he was a former a member of Holy Cross Church, a member of St. Patrick's Church and was educated in Scranton public schools.

He received the Handicapped Trainee MDA Gift and worked in the United Cerebral Palsy workshop through Allied Services. He enjoyed living at his summer home at Lake Wallenpaupack, fishing and spending time with his close friends, especially Norman. Butch was an avid New York Yankees baseball and Penn State football fan.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Henry Witkowski of Scranton for the kind, caring and compassion which he showed Butch.

Surviving are a sister, Florence Haddix, Scranton; a brother, Richard J. Witkow-ski and wife, Marion Witkowski, Lake Ariel; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.

The funeral will be Saturday at 9 a.m. from the Thomas J. Hughes Funeral Home Inc., 1240 St. Ann's St., Scranton, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Patrick's Church, Jackson Street, Scranton, to be celebrated by Monsignor David Tressler, pastor. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery.

Friends may call Friday, 5 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Hospice, 301 Deleware Ave., Olyphant, PA 18447; or Traditional Home Health and Hospice, 113 W. Drinker St., Dunmore, PA 18512.
