Jake Barrett Obituary

Jake Barrett, 19, of Montdale, died unexpectedly while working July 3, 2020. To say his family and friends are devastated at his untimely demise is an understatement.

Jake is the son of Jack and Lisa Ferraro Barrett, Montdale.

Jake, #14, started playing football at 7 years old and put his heart into the game for his entire career. Frank Rapoch and Trevor Tellip gave him the freshman year of his life and he would always brag about their coaching.

Jake was everybody's friend and was loved by the entire community. He worked at and was part of the Vincenzo's Pizza family. He was currently working for Scotty's Service Center doing HVAC. The family can't say enough about how amazing they have been through this tragedy.

Jake loved to hunt, fish and go off-roading. He found great joy in calling in turkeys and to see others experience the excitement of landing a big one. His friends meant the world to him.

Jake's family is heartbroken by the huge void left in their life that his presence filled. In addition to his parents, Lisa and Jack Barrett, Jake is survived by his older sibling, "Sissy," Ashley Lapiers and husband, Kenny, and his nieces, Haily and Kyla; younger brother, Shane Barrett; paternal grandparents, Jack and Elaine Barrett; maternal grandparents, James and Ruth Ferraro; several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was especially close with his cousins, Robbie and Braden Nolan. Danielle Demming was the love of his life and they shared a "baby" pig, Waylon. He will be sorely missed by his "little buddy," Evan Colachino, and best friends, Camryn Frazier and Christopher Smiegel.

He was preceded in death by his uncle, Jimmy Ferraro IV.

Private funeral services will be held today at the Harrison Funeral Home, 374 N. Main St., Archbald. A viewing will be held today from 4 to 8 p.m. Please note that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, social distancing directives are in place and attendees must wear a mask. In honor of Jake's life, he would want anyone paying respects to wear their favorite "Camo" or flannel shirt to his viewing.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the family or through Ven

There are no words to express how much you meant to our family. We hadn't seen you in a while but such is life when you're trying to grow up and forge a life as an adult so we knew you were busy. Just because life takes you in a different direction, doesn't mean you don't still love the ones that used to be close to you and we understood that. I'm so thankful we got to see you for a few minutes a couple weeks ago. Jake, when Gina and Mike lost their friend, Joe Maddage you were at our house trying your best to give comfort where you could or let Mike stay at your house, and there were other times that you knew my son needed you for other things as well and I can't ever repay you for that. I'm rambling because this is so hard but I know you're with Jesus now and that's how I get comfort in this tragedy. I know we'll see each other again someday. I'll love you forever and I thank your parents for letting us be a part of your life. Fly high my dear and know you'll always be loved and missed more than you'll ever know
