Joan Gnall Obituary

Joan A. Gnall of Taylor passed away peacefully Thursday, June 1, at Geisinger Community Medical Center, surrounded by the love of her brother, Bill, and her nephews and nieces, David and Robin Gnall, Bill and Debra Gnall, and Cynthia and Evelyn Dopko.

Born in Taylor on Feb. 6, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Adam and Verna Powell Gnall and she was a 1952 graduate of Taylor High School, where she was the salutatorian. Throughout the years, Joan worked for Bell Telephone and retired from Lackawanna County, where she was a clerk. She was a lifelong member of the First Congregation Church of Taylor. Joan will be remembered as a kind and gentle lady, who would help anyone in need.

Surviving are a brother, William Gnall, Taylor; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great- nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Lovie Gnall; a sister, Evelyn Dopko and her husband, Robert; and a brother, Adam.

Joan's family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the ICU staff at GCMC for their care and support this past week.

Private funeral services were held Monday, June 5, at the Semian Funeral Home LLC, 704 Union St., Taylor, by the Rev. Ginger Daubenhauser. Interment, Milwaukee Cemetery.
