JoAnn Eckhart, Hop Bottom, formerly of Clarks Summit, died Monday at Regional Hospital of Scranton. Her husband is William Eckhart. The couple married in 1968.
Born in Plymouth, she was the daughter of the late Abraham and Bertha Smith Barber. Prior to retirement, she worked for Lockheed Martin as an administrative assistant.
Also surviving are two daughters, Paula Harris, Clarks Summit; and Tammy Jo Burke and her husband, William, Dunmore; two grandchildren, Patrick and Ryan Burke; two sisters, Catherine Stritzinger, Dallas; and Jackie Kobusky, Hanover Twp.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Paul David Eckhart; three brothers, Jake, Donald and William Barber; and two sisters, Dorothy Stone and Bertha Roberts.
A memorial service will be held Friday at 5 p.m. from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, with services by the Rev. William Stritzinger.
Friends may call from 3 p.m. until the time of the service.
