John Anthony Sobieski, D.C.P.D., 50, of Dickson City, died Monday at Allied Hospice, Scranton, after a long and very courageous battle with cancer.

John was a loving son and faithful friend, but most dear to John's heart was being a dad to his son, J.B. His greatest joy was spending time with him. John fought with unbelievable resolve and determination to win his battle against cancer because he could not bear to leave his son.
John's family would like to thank the staff of VNA Home Health for their compassionate care.

My deepest condolences to the entire Sobieski Family. I went to Air Force basic training with John in 1995 and roomed with him during our training phase.
I remember his kindness, wit, and most of all his sense of humor. It's been years since we spoke and today something told me to look John up, only to learn the news of his passing. My brother in blue, may God rest your soul.
