Mackenzie Evanusa Obituary
Born in Scranton, daughter of Stephen J. Evanusa, Hughestown, and Kimberly Ann Pry, Scranton, she was a member of Divine Mercy Parish, formerly educated in Riverside public schools and was to be a senior at Scranton High School in the fall. She was employed by Cosmo's Cheesesteaks. Mackenzie participated in basketball and golf at Riverside High School, enjoyed country music and received a brown belt in Kung Fu. She was very interested in the mechanics of cars and trucks, and loved helping with repairs. Mackenzie was known for her huge heart and loving soul, and touched not only her family, but everyone she knew. She was a very outgoing and vibrant person, and would help anyone in need. A loving daughter, sister, granddaughter and friend, she will be deeply missed.
Also surviving are a sister, Sarah Ann Evanusa, California; a brother, John Henry Evanusa, Hughestown; maternal grandmother, Ann Hoover, Scranton; a stepfather, Edward Pry, Taylor; aunts, uncles and cousins; and Kimberly's companion, William Minelli.
She was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, William Hoover; and paternal grandparents, John and Lillian Abbott Evanusa.
The funeral will be Saturday at 10 a.m. from the Eagen-Hughes Funeral Home, 2908 Birney Ave., with Mass at 10:30 in Divine Mercy Parish, to be celebrated by the Rev. Francis Pauselli. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery.
Friends may call Friday, 4 to 8 p.m.

Hearing "I am so sorry for your loss" does tend to get overwhelming. I've been there. I just noticed, that most people, that is all they know to say. As well as, you're in my thoughts. I am so sorry and everyone that knew Mackenzie, you are all in my thoughts. She was an amazing young lady who would have given her entire self to anyone if it would have made them happy. It hurts me and saddens me as well that she is now gone. She will NEVER be forgotten.
