Marion Viercinski Obituary

Marion J. Viercinski of Old Forge passed away Saturday morning at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Marion was a devoted wife to her husband, Stanely, for over six decades. Together, they built a strong and loving family, creating cherished memories along the way.

Born in Taylor, she was the only daughter born to the late John Jr. and Gertrude Gladysz Gondella and was a 1955 graduate of Taylor High School. Marion's unwavering commitment to her faith and dedication to the church were exemplified through her role as a secretary at St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church, Old Forge. For 27 years, she served her parish with grace and sincerity, earning the respect and admiration of all who knew her. Upon the closure of her parish, she became a parishioner of Queen of the Apostles Church, Avoca. Marion had a sense of style and always looked her best. She loved to decorate the church and her home at Christmas. She and her husband enjoyed traveling, especially to Atlantic City and Las Vegas. In her spare time, Marion was an excellent Polish cook, enjoyed the polka's, especially at Angela's Park, watching the Price is Right and the Hallmark Christmas movies.

Her greatest legacy will be the boundless love and devotion she had for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memory, in addition to her husband, are two children, Stanley (Yvette), Shavertown; and Mary Ann (Kenneth) Rupp, Archbald; five grandchildren, Adam, Lynn Marie and Jillian Viercinski, Alyssa Rupp Bohenek and Bryan Rupp; two great-grandchildren, Carson John and Carter Bohenek; her grandpuppies, Beau, Jewel, Moose and Finn; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, William, Edward and Leon.

Family and friends are invited to attend Marion's funeral, which will begin Thursday at 9:15 a.m. from the Semian Funeral Home LLC, 704 Union St., Taylor, followed by Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. in Queen of the Apostles Church, 715 Hawthorn St., Avoca, Interment, Cathedral Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 6 p.m.

May her soul ascend to eternal peace, and may her memory live on in the lives of all who were touched by her kindness and love. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
