Marjorie George Obituary

Marjorie A. George, 86, of Dunmore, passed away quietly Wednesday morning at home in Dunmore.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Theodore E. and Antoinette Coma Domenick. She was a graduate of Dunmore High School and later attended Marywood University and Keystone College obtaining a degree in business. She worked in marketing and advertising and, prior to retirement, she was employed by Dunmore Roofing and Supply Co. as the office manager.

Marge was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church where she served as a lector for several years. She also volunteered for many organizations including the Deutsch Institute, the ARC of NEPA, the Special Olympics and Meals on Wheels. Marge was a dedicated caregiver to her brother Bill and spent much of her spare time accompanying him to various activities such as golf, tennis, bowling, horseback riding, snow tubing, bocce ball and the list goes on. Marge enjoyed reading and gardening but more than anything she loved spending time with her family.

Surviving are her sister, Jean Kowalski; and her brother, William Domenick, both of Dunmore; nieces and nephews, Antoinette Lopatka and husband, Dave, Dunmore; Richard Kowalski and wife, Tina, Palmyra; Robert Kowalski, Dunmore; Michael Kowalski and wife, Christine, Spring Brook Twp.; and Debbie Ptasinski and husband, Scot, Dunmore; and great-nieces and great-nephews whom she adored, David, Jenna, Abby, Michael, Matthew, Hannah, Richie, Ryan and Reese.

The funeral will be Saturday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, Chestnut Street, Dunmore. Interment, Mount Carmel Cemetery, Dunmore.

Friends may call Saturday morning at the funeral home from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to one of the organizations mentioned above or a charity of your choice.
