Michael Antosh Obituary

Michael W. Antosh, 76, a lifelong resident of Moscow, died Saturday morning at home. His wife is the former Eleanor A. Rishko. The couple married in 1960.

Born in Moscow, son of the late Michael and Mary Prokipchak Antosh, he was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School and owned Antosh Plumbing. He served in the Army as a military policeman and was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Church, Moscow. A jack-of-all-trades, he was known for his exceptional woodworking skills and his ability to fix anything.

A loving husband, father and grandfather, he loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, gardening and picking mushrooms and blueberries. He was a true hunter who lived by his own rule, "You cannot shoot anything under an eight-pointer until the last day of the season. Let's go for the big bucks." He also enjoyed physical fitness at the YMCA and the local fitness center. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Also surviving are a daughter, Deborah Ann Walsh, Scranton; two sons, Michael A. Antosh and wife, Mauri, Covington Twp.; and Jeffry John Antosh, and wife, Kimberly, Covington Twp.; four grandchildren, Talia Walsh, Lauren, Emily, and Jeffrey Antosh; three sisters, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Judy Antosh, on April 15, 1984.

The funeral will be Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. from the Brian Arthur Strauch Funeral Home, Route 690 and First Street, Spring Brook Twp., with Mass at 10 in St. Catherine of Siena Church, Church Street, Moscow, to be celebrated by the Rev. Robert Simon, pastor. Interment with military honors, Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.
