He is also survived by his former wife, Lynn Nichols of Waverly; and stepchildren, Tripp (who has been a constant source of strength and compassion), Katie, Amy and Joel Broadbent; also many nieces and nephews who loved their Uncle Norm.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Alice Waters; and a grandson, Christopher Breeze.

The family would like to thank the staff at Abington Manor, especially Sue, for the exceptional care and compassion shown to Norman during his illness.

I am so sorry to learn of Norman's death. I am sure you won't know who I am, but we lived across the street from the Nichols at 311 Highland Ave. My brothers and I grew up with the Nichols children and remember Norman gave me a driving lesson once in an old Nash. I remember his yellow Studabaker pick up truck. Went to school with Natalie and have many warm memories of the family. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. I know I have rambled on and these memories are from the 40's but the Nichols made an impression on all the Holts. Hi to Natalie, I hope you remember me.

We met Norman and his then wife Lynn back in the 90's, when we visited Norman's daughter and her husband Carol & Jay Breeze, who have been our friends since we lived in Florida 36 years ago. We travelled from Massachusetts where we were staying with Mary and Ned Cristiano, to Pennsylvania and stayed overnight at the Inn of Nichols Village where we met Caol's grandmother and lots more of her family. We were able to join in Carol's Grandmother's birthday celebrations. We had dinner at Norman and Lynn' s beautiful home. We remember Norman as a happy man and we are glad to have had the pleasure of meeting him.
