Peter Pollak Obituary

Peter "Pipe" Pollak, 59, of Peckville, died Monday in Regional Hospital of Scranton. He was the son of the late Peter B. and Genevieve Sekelsky Pollak.

Born in Peckville, he was a graduate of Valley View High School, class of 1975. He was of the Catholic faith. He worked at Lockheed Martin and Specialty Records.

He was a passionate sports fan and enjoyed attending Valley View Cougar football games, and watching the New York Yankees, NY Giants and Penn State. In his younger years, he belonged to a number of local bowling leagues.

Surviving are a sister, Karen Trojanowicz; and brothers, Ronald, Michael and David Pollak, all of Peckville; one aunt, Martha Pollock; and nephews, Robert Harmer Jr. and fiancée, Courtney Sanders, and his father, Robert Harmer Sr.; and David Pollak Jr.; and great-nieces, Michelle, Alyssa and Skye.

He was also preceded in death by an infant sister, Patricia; and brother-in-law, John Trojanowicz.

The funeral will be Friday at 9:30 a.m. with Mass in St. Mary's Mount Carmel Church, Chestnut Street, Dunmore, with interment in St. Michael's Cemetery, Jessup. Friends may call Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Robert E. Decker Funeral Home, 702 River St., Peckville. Anyone attending the Mass is asked to go directly to church the morning of the funeral.

Peter was a quit type of person the only time your heard anything out of him is if it involved sports. Sports was his life he got to see his last giants game before suffering a massive stroke. He will be missed by every one who knew him. My condolences go out to the Pollak family may Peter rest in piece.
